This class provides information about the risks and benefits of weight loss surgery, the costs, and a pathway to help guide you through the process to make a lifestyle change.

CLASS LOCATION:
This class provided by Cone Health and Central Carolina Surgery will be held on the campus of Alamance Regional Medical Center in the Grand Oaks Center Building; 1st Floor Classroom.

The ARMC Grand Oaks Center is a freestanding building on the hospital’s main campus shared with both pharmacy and an outpatient center. Patient/Visitor parking is conveniently available directly in front of the main entrance. Once you enter the building through the main entrance, walk straight ahead towards the bathrooms/vending machines. Take a right at the next hallway and the large classroom will be towards the end on the left.

INFORMATION ABOUT OUR BARIATRIC SURGERY PROGRAM:

We currently DO NOT accept *MEDICAID, BCBS's BLUE HOME plan, or United Healthcare's COMPASS plan for weight loss surgery. You will need to contact another bariatric center if this is your PRIMARY & ONLY insurance coverage at this time with no expected changes. *Note: We will accept and file to Medicaid when it is secondary or tertiary coverage.

You MUST be at least 18 years of age to be considered for surgical options at our center.

We currently DO NOT offer a self-pay plan for bariatric surgery with our program. You will need to ensure you have bariatric coverage under your insurance policy for proceeding with next steps.

You may be a candidate for surgery if you have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or greater, or a BMI between 35-39.9 AND serious obesity-related health problems to be considered for bariatric surgery.
