Joint Works is a special program for patients preparing for knee or hip replacement surgery. The program is designed to help patients make a smooth transition from hospital to home.
Before surgery, patients attend a class taught by a registered nurse, a physical or occupational therapist, and a social worker. Patients learn what to expect after surgery, and discuss pain management, rehabilitation, exercises, and equipment. Tours of the Orthopedic Unit are also available, and family members are welcome to attend.
Speak with your orthopedic surgeon for information on how to sign up for the Joint Works program at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
