What I like about Greensboro: I truly enjoy having the mountains nearby along with many state parks for hiking. The city itself is pretty with many parks and offers numerous activities to do.

What I like about our program: Growing up in the triad, I appreciate Cone's good reputation and access to all things IM. I also like that the program has a relatively small cohort each year. For me, that makes for a closer and better training environment with mentors and fellow residents.
What I like about Greensboro: Greensboro is a pleasant city, truly "green" with many great parks, and has convenient access to the rest of NC.

What I like about Greensboro: Greensboro has a nice downtown area with some great restaurants. I like that it is centrally located with access to the mountains, the beach and more!

What I like about our program: The people: Everyone is so kind, welcoming and supportive. It was clear to me from the interview and second-look, but getting to experience the culture now as an intern has made the start of this new experience both easier and more exciting.
What I like about Greensboro: The city is absolutely beautiful, and I love how there are trees everywhere! This is the largest city that I have lived in, and I’m really enjoying all that it has to offer in restaurants, walking trails, and shopping.
Other interests: I enjoy baking, building Legos, watching TV, and traveling.

What I like about our program: I like the family friendly atmosphere of the program and being in a community-based program.
What I like about Greensboro: I like being close to friends and family nearby. There are also a lot of greens spaces and opportunities to get outdoors. There is never any traffic and the cost of living is great.

What I like about our program: I love feeling like I’m more than just another name. There’s a real family feel to this place that is hard to describe and it has made me feel at home from day one.
What I like about Greensboro: As a native Greensborian, I’ve watched Greensboro grow to appease those looking for big city vibes while maintaining its small town feel.

Future Plans: I’m interested in critical care and wilderness medicine. I’d love to be a critical care doctor and do some work as an expedition doctor on the side.
What I like about our program: The people stand out! At Cone Health, everyone you interact with is friendly and focused on delivering excellent care to our patients. I have felt well supported from day one and I’m excited to be at work, even on hard days. I love being a part of a working a community that truly cares about each other and our patients.
What I like about Greensboro: I went to undergrad at Duke, so North Carolina feels like a second home to me. I like that there’s great access to the outdoors, you can bike outside most of the year, and people are friendly and welcoming.
Other interests: Outside of the hospital, I am likely to be found on my road bike, going for a run, cooking, playing guitar (badly), or planning my next backcountry skiing trip.

Future Plans: I’m excited to continue exploring Greensboro and becoming more involved in the local community. My goal is to be a personal and compassionate physician who is trusted not only by my colleagues, but also by my patients and their families. While I don’t have a specific fellowship in mind at this time, I’m keeping an open mind and look forward to discovering where my interests take me throughout residency.
What I like about our program: What stands out most to me about Cone is the strong sense of community. From the moment I arrived, the residents, faculty, and staff have been incredibly welcoming and supportive. It’s a culture that makes people feel valued, and I’m proud to be a part of it.
What I like about Greensboro: Greensboro offers the perfect balance of convenience and quality of life. It has all the amenities I need while still maintaining a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. I love that it’s surrounded by beautiful green spaces and is conveniently located near other major cities in North Carolina. Greensboro also has an excellent food scene with many great restaurants to explore.

Future Plans: Professionally, I'm still figuring it out, but if I had to decide today, I'd choose Allergy & Immunology or Pulmonary/Critical Care. Personally, I'd love to buy a house with a yard for my dogs.
What I like about our program: I appreciate the supportive environment. It allows me to learn and grow without fear. Also, I like the food from the physician’s lounge and the variety of specialty rotations offered here at Cone and away.
What I like about Greensboro: I like the nature trails, friendly atmosphere, and minimal traffic. I’m also excited to see the changing leaves and a little snow later in the year.
Other interests: Walking my dogs, swimming, pickleball, volleyball, board games, musicals, and friendship.

What I like about our program: On my interview day, the warmth and kindness of the program faculty and staff stood out to me. Since starting here, the camaraderie among the residents has further made me feel very welcome and supported. We serve a very diverse patient population with a variety of pathologies, which was also important to me when choosing a program.
What I like about Greensboro: It's an easy city to live in with lots of wonderful green spaces and a nice downtown area. It's also centrally located in North Carolina for fun weekend trips to the mountains, beach, or other cities like Charlotte and Raleigh.
Other interests: Traveling, hiking, trying new restaurants, crossword puzzles, and reading.

Future Plans: Pursue a fellowship in Cardiology or practice as a hospitalist, with the long-term goal of opening my own private practice.
What I like about our program: Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, and it truly felt like home from day one. I appreciate the close-knit culture of our smaller program, where you get to know your co-residents and faculty on a personal level. The supportive environment and individualized learning opportunities make it an incredible place to grow both professionally and personally.
What I like about Greensboro: I love being close to my family, experiencing all four seasons, and being just a short drive from both the mountains and the beach.
Other interests: Formula 1 (still hoping to attend my first grand prix!), pilates, snowboarding, traveling, and being the cool, fun aunt to my four nieces.

What I like about our program: I love the community-based practice setting, where you can serve a diverse patient population from around the local Triad area, the warmth and kindness of the faculty, the free lunch during the week, and my co-interns!
What I like about Greensboro: Greensboro is familiar. I grew up in High Point, NC, and always ventured to Greensboro, whether it be for a slice of cake from Maxie B's bakery (highly recommend), delicious restaurants, going to a Grasshoppers game, and the green landscapes all around.
Other interests: Outside of work, I enjoy tennis, weightlifting, Orangetheory, cooking, baking, traveling, and binge watching a good TV show (currently back on House of the Dragon Season 3)!

Future Plans: After intern year here at Cone, I will be moving on to radiation oncology residency at Wake Forest!
What I like about our program: I love the culture of Cone’s IM program! All the senior residents and attendings have been incredibly welcoming and supportive of our learning.
What I like about Greensboro: I love the Greensboro Grasshopper’s games! Me and my husband also enjoy exploring the parks and trails with our corgi.
Other interests: I love to read! I also enjoy traveling and recently discovered a new love for snorkeling

Future Plans: Next year I am moving back home to NYC to continue my training at New York Presbyterian (Columbia/Cornell) in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and plan to specialize in pediatrics!
What I like about our program: Cone stood out for its welcoming community, an academic-like environment inside a community hospital, and the ability to experience a healthy mix of inpatient, outpatient, and elective time during my intern year to prepare me well for the rest of my residency.
What I like about Greensboro: Coming down from Buffalo, NY the first thing that comes to mind is the weather!! I also love the proximity to the mountains and the beach, the number of sports teams around, the airport (IYKYK), and the people!
Other interests: New York sports teams, specifically the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills! I also love to travel and explore. National parks are a favorite and anything on the water. During medical school I fostered dogs and love most animals, as long as we don't consider insects animals! My newest hobby is needlepoint!

Future Plans: After this amazing prelim year at Cone I will complete my Radiology Residency at Wake Forest and most likely pursue a fellowship in Neuroradiology.
What I like about our program: The amazing atmosphere the attendings, administration and fellow residents create. I feel welcome and confident I will be trained well here.
What I like about Greensboro: Cool breweries, good golf courses and fun places to shop and eat.
