Sneezing and Wheezing: Help for Allergy Season

Thank you for your question. Please see below for a response from Allergy and Asthma Center of North Carolina.

Q: I suffer from numerous allergies. What is the best way to prevent the swollen raw skin under the eyes? I have used Bausch and Lomb eye wash with an over the counter eye drop. This has helped some.

A: A prescription eye drop, such as Pataday or Pazeo may provide additional relief if this is related to allergic conjunctivitis. Aquaphor on the lower eyelids will probably help with the raw skin. However, if the problem persists or progresses the patient should be seen by an allergy specialist to evaluate and rule out other potential causes.
