Make a Plan for Cancer Screening
Cancer screenings could save your life. These tests detect cancer in its earliest, most treatable stages—often before symptoms appear. That leads to more successful treatment results and less need for intensive therapies. With mobile screenings, free screenings, and a Rapid Diagnostic Clinic, Cone Health makes it easy for you to get answers fast.

Rapid Diagnostic Service
Waiting for answers when cancer is a possibility is a worrisome and anxious time. That's why Cone Health Cancer Care provides our Rapid Diagnostic Service for all patients referred for suspicion of cancer by a physician or any provider. On average, we contact you the same day as the referral, and we typically see you within two days of referral for a first appointment.
Advanced Diagnostic Services
If a screening shows something unusual, you’ll need diagnostic tests to determine if you have cancer. These tests may include:
- Biopsy—Removes cells from your body for examination under a microscope
- Blood tests—Look for evidence that may indicate cancer
- Imaging services—Reveal where cancer is located inside the body
- Endoscopy—Uses a thin, hollow tube or a small pill to look inside your body to locate cancer
Cancer Genetic Counseling & Testing
While most cancers happen by chance, some cancers are caused by a gene mutation inherited from a parent. Meeting with a genetic counselor can help you decide if genetic testing is right for you. During a genetic counseling appointment, our genetic counselors will:
- Gather your medical and family history.
- Discuss how genetic testing works.
- Explain how genetic testing can help you and your family understand your risk of cancer.
- Share personalized recommendations to protect your health.
