Advanced Diagnostic Services

You and your doctor have access to a wide range of advanced diagnostic tools to identify the type, location and extent of your cancer, including:

  • Biopsy – Removes cells from your body so they can be examined under a microscope
  • Blood tests – Look for evidence that may indicate cancer
  • Diagnostic imaging services – Reveal where cancer is located inside the body
  • Endoscopy – Uses a thin, hollow tube or a small, swallowable capsule to look inside your body to locate cancer

When you choose Cone Health, you’ll appreciate the knowledgeable guidance of a nurse navigator who coordinates your care and makes sure you understand what to expect at each appointment.

Cancer Genetics Counseling & Testing

If you have a family history of cancer, a genetic counselor at Cone Health Cancer Center can help you decide whether to take a genetic test that could reveal whether you inherited an altered gene that increases the risk of developing cancer.
