Heart & Vascular Clinical Trials

At Cone Health, the latest medical research is the foundation of our leading-edge heart and vascular care. Our cardiovascular team participates in innovative clinical trials to stay up to date on the most advanced treatments and technologies. These investigations test new ways to prevent, detect, diagnose and treat the diseases that affect your heart and blood vessels.

We are privileged to treat every patient who comes to us for cardiovascular care. Our goal is to use clinical research to improve the lives of every individual we serve. If you have a heart or vascular condition, your doctor may invite you to consider enrolling in a clinical trial. Participants play a valuable role in discovering treatments that could improve outcomes for you and future patients.

LeBauer-Brodie Center for Cardiovascular Research and Education

Dr. Bruce Brodie and Dr. Tom Stuckey

Our Cone Health experts have more than 30 years of cardiovascular research experience. In 1991, Bruce Brodie, MD, Thomas Stuckey, MD, and Denise Muncy, RN, launched the private, not-for-profit LeBauer Cardiovascular Research Foundation. That foundation merged with the Cone Health Heart & Vascular Center in 2016 to become the LeBauer-Brodie Center for Cardiovascular Research and Education.

Heart & Vascular Research Focus

Our top priority is your well-being. Your doctor may recommend you participate in a cardiovascular clinical trial to protect or improve your health. You can decide if you want to enroll in one of our trials. If you do, one of our research coordinators will help you identify the trial that is right for you.

All our trials follow strict guidelines. The Cone Health Institutional Review Board approves each one. We ensure every trial has the potential to significantly improve treatments for heart and vascular disease. Many of our trials focus on:

  • Heart attack care
  • Heart failure care
  • Heart rhythm disorders care
  • Heart surgery
  • Management of cholesterol, blood pressure and diabetes
  • Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) care
