Heart Surgeries
- Adult congenital heart lesion repair: Treats damaged tissue you were born with
- Aortic dissection repair: Fixes a tear in your artery wall
- Atrial septal defect closure: Closes a hole between the upper chambers of your heart
- Coronary angioplasty and stenting: Uses a small metal mesh tube to open your blocked or narrowed coronary arteries, improving blood flow

- Mediastinoscopy: Creates a small incision in your neck to help doctors examine the space between your lungs
- Multimodality therapy for thoracic malignancies: Combines chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery for cancer treatment
- Pericardial window: Drains excess fluid from around your heart
- Pleurodesis: Prevents lung collapse by attaching your lung to the inside of your chest wall
- Pulmonary resection: Removes all or part of your diseased lung
- Resection of mediastinal tumors: Removes a tumor from the upper chest area between your lungs, containing your heart, nerves and blood vessels
- Thymectomy: Removes your thymus gland
- Video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) for lung resection: Minimally invasive procedure that removes parts of your diseased lung
Cardiac Rehabilitation
At Cone Health, we know surgery is only the first part of your care. After your heart procedure, you will need to rebuild your strength and range of motion. The physical therapists in our inpatient cardiac rehabilitation program work with you to safely and gradually increase your activity level. As your heart and vascular surgery partner, we help you continue your recovery at home through our outpatient cardiac rehabilitation.
