Prevent Heart & Vascular Disease
Prevent heart disease before it starts with a personal risk assessment, healthy heart education, and a plan to lower your risk of heart disease.
How Do I Know If I Have a Healthy Heart?
To assess your risk for heart and vascular problems, we start with screening tests like a heart scan or calcium scoring test. These tests help you understand your current heart health. Once we have the results, we work with you to get healthier.
Heart Scan Calcium Test
A heart scan calcium test checks for unhealthy build-up in your heart’s arteries. Calcium, or plaque, can stick to the sides of your arteries. If it hardens, it may lead to coronary artery disease or a heart attack.
Also called a calcium scoring test, this is a quick, non-invasive way to check your heart health. A CT machine uses X-rays to take images of your arteries. It uses very little radiation and takes about 15 minutes. But the effects of a heart scan can last a lifetime. Your results help you understand your next steps for a healthy heart.
