Set Goals and Maintain Success With Nutrition Counseling

Is that a beach ball? Peek in on one of Aubrey Burklin’s nutrition counseling sessions, and you may think you’re watching a group of friends getting ready for a day of fun in the sun. Look closer though and you’ll see that the inflatable ball being tossed around is imprinted with images of food and food categories. It’s all part of helping people to make positive changes in their eating habits while improving their overall health.

Aubrey is one of several registered dietitians with Cone Health who leads classes like these throughout our communities, including Greensboro, Reidsville and Burlington.

Attendees of all ages and stages of health learn about the benefits of nutrition and the important role it plays it our lives. Samuel Hawkins turned to Cone Health for counseling after experiencing heart complications. He’s learned that the dietary changes he makes now can have a significant impact on his future health.

It’s not all beach balls and toy fruit. In addition to learning how to shop for and prepare healthier meals, Nutrition Counseling also includes developing personalized goals, maintaining for long-term success and, in some cases, medical nutrition therapy.

Along with exercise, nothing is more important to personal health than what and how we eat. And it’s never a bad idea to ask for help if you need it. Learn more about Cone Health Nutrition Counseling.
