What to Bring to the Rehabilitation Center
Help make your or your loved one’s stay at the Cone Health Inpatient Rehabilitation Center as comfortable as possible by bringing the right clothing, toiletries and personal items. Please label all items with the patient’s name.
Clothing
Bring at least five days’ worth of comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that’s easy to get on and off. You’ll need:
- T-shirts or knit tops
- Pull-on, elastic-waist pants or shorts
- Socks
- Underwear
- A light sweater or jacket
- Comfortable, well-fitting, low-heeled shoes with nonskid soles, such as sneakers or walking shoes
- Pajamas or nightgowns
- Rubber-soled bedroom shoes (no open-heeled slippers)
- Bathrobe
Laundry
Bring a laundry bag for dirty clothes. Family members are responsible for laundry. A washer and dryer are available in the rehabilitation center. Doing laundry also may be a part of occupational therapy, when appropriate.
Personal Items
Bring things normally used at home, such as:
- Deodorant
- Shampoo
- Hairbrush and comb
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Denture-care materials
- Eyeglasses and case
- Contact lens cleaner and case
- Hearing aid and extra batteries
- Makeup
- Shaving kit
Mobility Aids
Bring any mobility aids currently used, such as:
- Braces
- Canes
- Crutches
- Prostheses
- Splints
- Walkers
- Wheelchairs
