Physical Therapy Speeds Recovery After Near-Fatal Crash

Kobe Nyarko in Physcial TherapyKobe Nyarko is a registered radiologic technologist.  Last fall while on his way home from work, he was nearly killed when his vehicle collided with a concrete bridge support. His car was totaled from the impact, and Kobe suffered a right leg fracture that required surgery, impaired his mobility and was painful.

After he was discharged from the hospital, Kobe’s orthopedic surgeon wanted him to have physical therapy.  Armed with determination to recover, Kobe chose Cone Outpatient Rehabilitation at our Brassfield location to help him.

Physical Therapy for Kobe NyarkoFrom the beginning, the staff did a good job of explaining the therapy plan and expectations for his recovery.  Kobe found it helpful that this kind of dialogue continued throughout his course of treatment.

His physical therapy sessions were challenging yet rewarding.  He progressed in good time from using a walker to using a cane to get around.  As he improved in strength, balance and mobility, his pain decreased significantly.  His limp disappeared and his endurance increased.

“There was never a dull moment while in therapy,” Kobe explained. “The one-on-one attention I received from the staff at Outpatient Rehabilitation, as well as the positive attitude by all their staff is incredible and much appreciated.”

Kobe is now back at work and happy to show off his fast recovery from a near-fatal accident.
