Before visiting a foreign country, ask Cone Health for guidance and medical care that help you protect your health on the journey. Your travel group will depart with assurance that you’ve taken steps to stay safe.
Travelers’ Health Services
Cone Health traveler's health services are provided at our Employee Health & Wellness locations and the Regional Center for Infectious Disease. Schedule a consultation with a travel medicine specialist two to four weeks before your trip. We can:
- Review your medical history and trip itinerary
- Advise your group on staying well in your destination country
- Recommend ways to manage a chronic condition during your trip
Ask your doctor which vaccines you may need for your journey.
It’s best to get vaccinated two to four weeks ahead of your trip. But you’ll still benefit from vaccinations closer to the time of your departure.
If necessary, get one or more of these vaccinations through Cone Health before leaving home:
Yellow Fever Vaccine Alert
Cone Health Employee Health & Wellness is one of three North Carolina locations selected to provide yellow fever vaccines during a vaccine supply disruption expected to last nearly a year. The vaccine’s manufacturer, Sanofi Pasteur, has worked closely with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to select designated clinics to participate in a nationwide effort to provide patient access to the yellow fever vaccination, Stamaril. Cone Health’s Employee Health & Wellness clinic at 200 E. Northwood Street, Suite 101, Greensboro, has vaccines available to meet your travel needs.
If you are in need of the yellow fever vaccine during the supply disruption, feel free to contact our clinic site supervisor at (336) 832-3600 to arrange for the vaccine.
