Get your recommended screenings
The earlier we can spot a health issue, the better we can treat it. Get details.
Take your prescribed medicines
Conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes can be treated with lifestyle changes and prescribed medicines. If you have trouble remembering to take prescribed medicine, post a reminder where you’ll see it every day.
Stay connected with your doctor
To help your doctor know if your care plan is working, make sure to schedule and attend your follow-up doctor’s appointments.
Protect yourself with vaccinations
Ask your primary care physician what vaccinations may benefit your health, reducing your risk of a serious case of the flu, pneumonia, shingles or other illness. Many vaccines are available at Cone Health Community Pharmacy locations.
Exercise regularly
Break away from digital screens and get at least 150 minutes of moderate activity each week to stay fit, improve mental health and reduce health risks.
Sleep well

Eat healthy foods and limit sugar sweetened beverages
Fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains are essential. Highly processed foods should be avoided whenever possible. Frequently drinking sugar-sweetened beverages is associated with weight gain, obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart, kidney and liver disease, tooth decay, and gout, a type of arthritis. Reduce stress
Stress hurts your body and mind. Manage stress through prayer, meditation or mindful relaxation, and make time for family, friends and healthy relationships.

Drink a lot of water
Most people don’t drink enough water, leading to dehydration, headaches, poor body function and health risks. Drink six to eight glasses of water a day or more if you weigh more than 160 pounds or exercise.
Practice good oral health
Brushing teeth, flossing, using mouthwash and visiting your dentist will help you keep good oral health and reduce your heart disease risk.
Don’t smoke
Smoking kills by causing cancer and serious lung illnesses. Both smoking and vaping damage heart and vascular health. Resources to help you stop smoking.
Avoid alcohol or drink in moderation
Excessive alcohol use increases serious short- and long-term health risks.
